Man charged with death by dangerous driving after double crash

A man has been charged with multiple driving offences following two crashes in Bolton. Craig Mossop, of Carrington Road, Bolton, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a vehicle while over the prescribed limit. The 51-year-old is due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court today (Tuesday). It follows two crashes which happened at around 4pm on Sunday, August 23. First, a blue Land Rover TD4 was traveling along Chorley Street when it collided with a 50-year-old woman. She died at the scene. Police say the vehicle then crashed into a 36-year-old man on Chorley New Road. He remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital. Mossop has also been charged with driving without a valid licence and driving without insurance.
